The cities of Sugar Land and Missouri City have plenty to keep the holiday spirit alive, with the return of season favorites.
Sugar Land will host its 9th Annual Tree Lighting event 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Sugar Land Town Square. Just some of the expected festivities include games, holiday crafts, street entertainers, stage performances and music from local choirs. Plus, a variety of local restaurants and groups will sell refreshments. An evening highlight will be the arrival of Santa, who will have a very special surprise from the Sugar Land Skeeters. The evening culminates with the lighting of the square’s 40-foot tree.
On Dec. 9, Missouri City hosts its annual Snowfest celebration, which happens 6-10 p.m. at the Civic Center Complex, 1522 Texas Parkway. The event includes a tree lighting ceremony, snow hill, moonwalks and food and craft vendors. Visitors are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for the Santa’s Exchange Project, benefiting Fort Bend County children.
The yearly Snowfest Parade follows the next day, starting at 9 a.m. at the corner of Murphy and Cartwright roads.
