Gather your running shoes, exercise clothes and water bottles because the Riverstone Wicked Fun Run benefitting Sole Loved returns 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.
Registration is now open for the run which starts at The Club at Riverstone. The event includes timed competitive and non-competitive waves, as well as a 1K kid’s run. The fee is $35 for competitive racers, $25 for non-competitive racers and $15 for the kids’ run.
T-shirts, water, fruit and healthy snacks will be provided. The post-race awards party includes a photo booth, DJ, bounce houses, face painters and more. Prizes will be awarded to those who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd for men and women separately.
Participants can choose to donate new kids’ tennis shoes of equal value to Sole Loved instead. Refunds will be given once you turn in your shoes during pre-packet pickup or the day of the event. All proceeds from the event will benefit Sole Loved.
Sole Loved is a non-profit whose mission is to bring hope and joy to children one pair of shoes at a time. The organization partners with 62 local, Title 1 and low-income schools, working directly with school social workers to bring shoes to thousands of children in need. This year, they provided shoes to 3,673 children.
You can donate shoes even if you aren’t participating (although it would be more fun if you did). We can’t wait to watch feet hit the pavement and new shoes hit the donation box!
