Can nibbling on delicious food save a life? It can if you attend our next Bite Nite Friday on June 14.
We’re combining our favorite food fest with a blood drive, giving you the chance to snack and give back.
Just like our previous Bite Nites, Houston’s favorite rolling restaurants will be parked in front of The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Boulevard, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
The life-saving action will be inside. Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will set up in The Club’s Live Oak Ballroom from 5-8 p.m. for those interested in donating a pint. Just one pint of blood can save three lives. Blood is always in short supply, so we urge you to come out and give.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Those who are age 16 and weigh 122 pounds or more can donate with parental consent.
Once you’ve donated, skip the juice and cookies in favor of standout dinner fare. Vegans, vegetarians and those moving toward a plant-based lifestyle can get their fill from Verdine. Adventurous diners can try Churrascos’ authentic Brazilian- style meals or the innovative fusion offerings prepared by Foreign Policy. Renegade Kitchen and Catering returns with Texas bistro cuisine. Topping it all off will be gourmet ice cream sandwiches by Smoosh Cookies.
Don’t forget, we always have music to dine by and great activities for the kids.
If you can only come to one Bite Nite, come to this one. It’s a chance to spread the love and give some blood. If you can’t, that’s okay. There are four Bite Nites left — July 12, Aug. 16, Sept. 13 and Oct. 11.
Trucks are subject to change. Fidos are allowed but must be leashed. Some trucks may be cash-only so stop at the ATM on the way.
