The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be at The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Blvd., 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, for an area blood drive.
Those giving the “gift of life” will receive food and refreshments and a special Riverstone gift. Donors also can pose for caricature drawings.

Sixteen-year-olds can donate with parental consent and must weight at least 122 pounds. People donating should eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of fluids one to two hours before giving blood.
Every donation can help save as many as three people. For inspirational stories on how blood donations have saved lives, visit http://www.giveblood.org/about-donating/why-donate/.
The blood drive is open to the public. Potential donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment and avoid long lines by emailing DirectorofFun@Riverstone.com.
