Something big is in the works for Fort Bend’s smallest residents — the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, a 10,000-square-foot project of the Children’s Museum of Houston.
Slated to open in 2015, the center will feature six kid-friendly and educational exhibits at the historic Imperial Sugar Mill site, offering world-class cultural and family-focused programs.
However, the center will not become a reality without additional fundraising. The museum is at about 60 percent of its overall goal and must raise another $1.65 million by the end of the year. Supporters have several ways to contribute, from simple donations to purchasing a family tile for the center’s “Tile Wall” or buying the naming rights for a gallery or section of the facility.
