EDUCATING RESIDENTS IN RIVERSTONE 

An aspect that makes Riverstone one of Houston’s best neighborhoods is the fact that it is served by some of the most highly acclaimed schools in the Fort Bend Independent School District, including Sullivan Elementary School, located on-site. With a focus on student achievement and development, Fort Bend ISD continues to offer outstanding educational opportunities, both in the classroom and through a broad array of extracurricular activities.

One of the district’s greatest strengths lies in its multicultural diversity. Students in FBISD schools represent more than 25 countries, and students and their families speak more than 100 languages. Among its numerous honors, the district has been lauded for offering an exemplary education by the National Association of Music Merchants and the United States Presidential Scholars Program. High schools in the district have also earned their place on The Washington Post’s Top High Schools and U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools national rankings.

In its 2020 rankings, Children at Risk has named Fort Settlement Middle School as the third top-ranked middle school in the Houston area. Among 873 Houston-area elementary schools included in the rankings, Commonwealth Elementary is No. 3. Sullivan Elementary is ranked No. 19. Also, Fort Bend ISD was named the 2018 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award winner in the Large School District category, receiving a $100,000 grand prize and statewide recognition.
